Obsidian - Game Character Art - Concept to finished 3D Model

My first ever game character project, for Character Art Production module at Abertay University.
Obsidian is a character made for the game I'll be working on in the second half of my gradution year, and although this project has many mistakes, I'm very happy with my first attempt! I finally learned ZBrush, and came further in understanding all aspects of character art - I ended up finding retopologizing a fun task :D Marmoset is also an absolute pleasure to use, and I had a great time overall.

I made my own model sheet, and gathered references and inspirations into a small, cohesive reference board. I ended up going quite far from my initial idea, but that is in large part due to my growing understanding of what makes sense.
She was sculpted in ZBrush, retopologized in Maya, textured in Substance Painter. Additional texture was made in Substance Designer, and the final renders I'm presenting here were made in Marmoset Toolbag.

Thank you for looking!
